Between the World and Me

Between the World and Me by Richard Wright is a poem written in 1935. This is an extremely depressing and gruesome story of a man who is tied to a tree, tarred and feathered, and then lit on fire. This poem shows how unfairly African Americans were treated during this time period. This brings me to the conclusion that this book will show how terrible African Americans were treated in the early 1900s. It is terrible that this man is brutally murdered just because of the color of his skin. I think that To Kill a Mockingbird will also show how unfairly and cruelly African Americans were treated.
