Water Fountain

This picture is of a segregated water fountain for white people. I also see the word Jew written on the window of the building. This picture makes me realize how racist people were back then. Also, the fountain is very dirty and disgusting, which shows that if this was the white water fountain, then I can’t imagine what the black water fountain is like. I can’t believe that black people couldn’t even drink the same water as white people. It’s almost as if whites thought that blacks were contagious. I think that To Kill a Mockingbird will have a lot to do with racism and segregation and what it was like back then.
