White Trade

This picture relates to the white water fountain picture and the separate entrances picture. From what I’ve seen, the United States separated everything. I thought the other pictures were bad, and then I saw this. I cant believe that people went this far to stay segregated. It seems tedious to me. I’m so happy that we don’t live like this anymore. I think that having all of these races together causes cultural diffusion, and our society has advanced a lot because of that. If we had figured this out years ago and opened up to new ideas and technologies, people wouldn’t have had to suffer like they did in the Dorothea Lange picture. People were afraid of change; they didn’t realize how much it would help us.
