Rosewood Massacre

On the first week in January in 1923, the Rosewood massacre took place. This was a racially motivated conflict that took place in Florida. Eight people died and Rosewood was abandoned. Did this really need to happen? Six blacks and two whites died. Whites gained up on the black people. How is this benefitting anyone? Well it's not. Instead it is causing harm and unease into communities. Burning the structures of Rosewood all because there were rumors of a colored man raping a white woman? I suppose one just needs one person to complain about any colored person and the massacres begin. Not only were people killed, moved away, and scarred, but there town and homes were destroyed. Is that what people really want? Well, most don't if not all.
