Making School Longer

President Obama wants to make school longer, and I don't think that's going to help our education system. Students are already tired when school is almost over, so add a couple more hours wouldn't help them learn; they'd all be in class sleeping or zoned out. Also sports need that time after school to practice. It would also separate families, giving them less time to spend time with each other. Another approach was to extend the amount of school days, cutting into summer vacation. No kid is going to want to sit inside the hot stuffy school when they know that they could be outside enjoying summer. It's not about giving more time for students to learn, it should be about improving the quality of the learning.
