The fire within

I read the book in 6th grade and its about a man named David Rein and the fact that he was just an ordenery guy looking to graduate from collage and become an author, until he rented a room to go to collage from a lady named Elizebeth Pennykettle and her daughter lucy Pennykettle. The pennykettles made a living by making clay dragons. But David had noticed that these dragons are much more than clay there little floating figures. Liz made hime one of these small clay beings and David had named it, gadzooks, the dragon had then helped daivid write a story about the squrill in the back yard that lucy Pennykettle had named snigger. Eventully the book was published and became a hit ( sorta like a story inside a story)
