I don’t think that it is right to banned books because people should be allowed to choose what books they want to read. I think that if a school library doesn’t want young kids to read a book they just shouldn’t buy it, and I think that is parents don’t want their kids reading a book they just shouldn’t let them read it, but they shouldn’t try to ban it. I think that people who ban books come up with lots of reasons to ban books that aren’t actually true or as bad as they seem. People have even banned/challenged books for little kids such as Charlotte’s Web and Winnie-the-Pooh, which aren’t inappropriate. I think that if lots of books get banned then people won’t be able to read good books or classics that are very important to learn about.

I also don’t like Obama’s plan to make the school year longer. He says that kids lose what they learned over the summer, when in reality kids do have to work over the summer because they have things like summer reading. It would also make the schools need more money, when our country is already in debt. Some people have said that maybe making the school day longer would be better, but I don’t think this would be good either. Kids are encouraged to do extracurricular activities such as clubs or sports, but if the school day was longer children would not be able to do things after school or wouldn’t get home until late. Also, kids get tired or bored by the end of the day so at the end of the day they wouldn’t pay as much attention if the day was long. If the school week was longer, like if kids had to go to school one day of the weekend, they would be more stressed out because they wouldn't have as much time to work on homework or projects or do things for fun.
