Some books that are banned are ridiculous. For example, the book Huckleberry Fin, was banned for being "suitabke for the slums". This is a bad reason for banning a book because this book tells a story and is not only "for the slums". also the book Animal Farm was banned. i read this book and i dont see why this book is banned because it is really good and is not affending to any people i think. i think that people should be able to chose what books they want to read in school. If people think that the book is offending they should just stop reading.
No, i dont think that President Obama should be aloud to lengthen the school year. This would make many people upset because for one reason if the school year is longer parents who have kids in cathlic schools they will have to pay for an extra month of school which would cost a lot of money. Also, i think that kids desirve a 2 month break from school. If our school year got any longer i believe they many kids would get stressed staying in school for so long. The president wants to extend it because he says thay many advanced countries have longer school years then we do. i think that this is ridiculous because the US has always had a 10 month school year and we are doing just fine.
