Longer School Year

The extending of the school year is a really bad idea. I do not think that putting kids in school for an extra month would help to learn at all. At fist everyone would be really upset about it and just give up. Kids want to relax during the hot summer months and their attention would be easily lost by sitting in school. Another problem with this idea is that it would cost a lot of money to keep schools around the country running for an extra month and we really can not afford to spend money right now. There have to be other solutions to getting a better education. Schools could stay open for an extra hour a day, but this would also cost more money and kids would still lose their concentration. I think that a way to help children learn more is to make sure that the best teachers are teaching. More extensive tests could be set up to challenge teachers and to see if they really are capable of teaching well. Personally, I learn a lot more if I really like the teacher and the way that they teach.
