I really enjoyed reading this poem and was very happy for the grandfather. I respect the granddaughter for caring for her grandfather enough to persuade her father not to leave him to die in the forest. I disrespect the father because he only took his father back home with him out of selfishness. Because he knew that one day he would also have to be left in the woods, he took his father back home so his daughter would also not do the same thing to him when he grew elder. Wisdom is a huge thing to have in life and the people with the most wisdom are the elderly. All because they grow feeble and weak does not mean they can be an asset to society. Since the wise old grandfather saved the town, he brought respect on him and all the other elders. The town changed their ways and now the elderly did not have to die until it was their time to go. i really respect this passage and I am glad everything turned out happy and for the best.
