Granddaughters Sled

This short story shows how elderly people were treated long ago. It is awful that elderly people were brought out the forest and left to die. No one should have to die that way. The little girl brought up a 'good point' by saying that when her own farther died, she would need a sled to bring him out to the forest to die. I think that she only said this becasue she didn't want to leave her grand father out in the forest to die. She was clever. When a famine occured, the grand father knew just what to do to not starve. Elderly people are smart; they've lived longer than people youger than them and have experienced much more. In times of emergency, they have the wisdom that people need to survive. They know things because they have lvied through a lot and seen a lot and know what to do. They can help save lives and they should get rewarded for their wisdom, not left out in the forest to die.
