More Centers

Water Fountains:
I think this shows just how colored people were treated during this time period that To Kill a Mockingbird takes place in. Colored people had their own separate water fountains and waiting rooms and places on the bus. White people just didn’t want to share their bathrooms and drinking water with colored people. It was as if they were not human beings.

Separate Entrances:
This picture goes along with the last photograph too. Not only were colored people segregated from the white people from sharing bathrooms and drinking fountains but they also had separate entrance to restaurant’s or cafes.

Rosewood:
During the time period of To Kill a Mockingbird as well as before and after events such as Rosewood happened. Blacks were treated unfairly and did not have much of a chance at defending themselves if their people were accused of any bad doings. White men would go after any black man in “revenge”.
