After hearing and reading about the devastion in Japan due to the earthquake, I began to realize that many other problems have branched off due to this. One of these problems includes the radiation plant that was disturbed due to the earthquake. The plant has released many of the radioactive particles into not only neighboring land, but also into the air. These particles are dangerous in many ways, including the fact that they can cause cancer. There is also some fear that another nuclear plant will explode, which would be very dangerous. It would be another problem for Japan to face on top of the earthquake, and I feel like it would be a hard mess to clean up, as well as the aftermath already.
I’m sure I am not the only one who feels the pain for those who are losing loved ones due to this catastrophe. The death toll is continuing to rise, and it is fast approaching 2,000. It seems as if it will take years for Japan to recover from this event. The U.S. has been sending help to Japan. California rescue teams have been sent to Japan to help with this aftermath, and they have a team of rescue dogs that they use. These dogs are trained to detect surviving victims. I think that this is smart because dogs have stronger senses, such as smell, than humans, and this can be useful to finding the survivers. However, the United States is not the only country that is sending help. Countries all over the world, including the United Kingdom, China, and New Zealand, are giving their help.
It has been 65 years since World War II, in which there was tension between Japan and the United States. Not that this is the solution to those problems, because that was a long time ago, but I feel like that by helping Japan get through these rough times, we can come together as a world. Although these events are tragic, it is really great when the countries of the world can put aside their differences and come together to help their neighbors. We are all in this together, and I think it is great that Japan is receiving all of this love and help from other nations.
