Banning Books.
This week in National Banned Book Week. Some of the Banned Books are To Kill Mockingbird, The Cacther in the Rye, the Twilight S is series, and the notorious Harry Potter Series. The Harry potter Series is on the top of the ALA Banned Book List. The main reason for this is because of the witchcraft and wizardy in the story. Some of the books on the list, I can sort of understand why they would be put there. One of the books that was banned is The Giverby Lois Lowery. I can understand why this book might be banned. I found this book very twisted and really strange. They killed babies in it..yeah. Just a bit wrong, I know. Whinnie The Pooh is also banned. I think that is ridiculous. Pooh is a classic book and it's just awesome. They don't do anything bad or wrong in the books. He's a stuffed bear of Christopher Robbins. Harry Potter is also banned, as is Twilight. Twilight because of it's religioous views and 'sexual themes.' Harry Potter because of it's witchcraft and wizadry. I think that those are very stupid reasons for a book to be banned. To Kill a Mockingbird is also on the banned book list because it is considered racist. The book does have some racism in it, but it is just telling us how the world really is. I like some of the books on the list and I don't see why they are banned. I find banned book week ridiculous and some of the books on the list should not be banned.
